AFTER FOREVER Guitarist Recruits Outside Lyricist For HDK Project
January 12, 2007Vocalist Amanda Somerville, who has appeared on the AINA rock opera "Days of Rising Doom" in 2003 and who has worked with EPICA and AFTER FOREVER as a backing vocalist and vocal coach, is collaborating with AFTER FOREVER guitarist/songwriter Sander Gommans on the lyrics for Sanders' HDK project.
Commented Gommans: "As a musician, I always try to do as much as I can myself. Sometimes I can be a control freak, especially with this project.
"Though I had a lot of topics that mainly contain my own frustrations/worries in mind, I realised it wasn't a very good idea to write the lyrics myself. They have to have a certain 'over-the-top' atmosphere that I just cannot create myself, so I started looking for another lyric writer who can cooperate in this. One of my friends I got to know due to my work in AFTER FOREVER, Amanda Somerville, was willing to participate in this. When I visited her in Germany I found out that she can make a lot of cool lyrics in this style, based on my topics!
"This is the first time she will be involved in this kind of music, but her past has proven that she's extremely versatile."

Ariën van Weesenbeek (GOD DETHRONED) - Drums
